Sam joined the Nicol team in 2020. He manages the financial reporting for all Nicol properties, ensuring compliance with lender reporting requirements and conducting comprehensive analysis of Nicol’s financial performance at a macro level. He is responsible for maintaining and strengthening relationships with financial institutions and partnerships as well as overseeing all acquisition and disposition activities. With a background as a commercial real estate banker, Sam spent 20 years with Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate Division, serving as both a lender and regional manager for the Mid-South region. Before joining Nicol, he served as Chief Investment Officer at a capital partnership firm, where he successfully sourced debt and equity for 75 development projects, primarily retail build-to-suits, as well as office and self-storage assets. He holds a BS in Finance from Auburn University, where he currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Master of Real Estate Development program. Sam also earned an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Nashville has been home to Sam and his family since 2012.
